A fire at Pierrot, Vieux-Fort has left a single mother and her two children without a roof over their heads.
While heading to work on Tuesday, Liza Aurelis was called by a neighbour and told that her house was on fire.
The woman said she immediately asked the bus driver to stop and began her journey back home.
When she arrived home, the house was already engulfed in flames and she didn’t manage to save a single piece of household item nor her personal documents.
“Everything I had inside the house was completely destroyed,” she explained.
The single mother whose two boys are two and 11-years-old, were not home at the time of the incident.
While the origin of the fire is still unknown, Aurelis has ruled out foul play stating, “I don’t have problem with anybody from my community. I say hi to everyone here.”
Aurelis is staying at her father’s residence until she can get back on her feet.
She is appealing for persons to assist her and her two young children to help rebuild their home.
